What is Mediation?
Mediation is a voluntary and structured process in which a neutral third party assists conflicting parties within a construction project to communicate effectively and work toward a mutually acceptable solution. Unlike formal legal proceedings, mediation is designed to create a cooperative environment where both sides are encouraged to openly discuss their concerns, clarify misunderstandings, and explore practical ways to resolve disputes.
In construction projects, conflicts may arise due to issues such as payment disagreements, project delays, contract interpretations, changes in project scope, or differences in expectations between stakeholders. Mediation helps address these challenges early by focusing on dialogue and understanding rather than confrontation.
